The non-custodial cross-chain swap engine links Canton’s institutional tokenized-asset markets with liquidity and trading activity available across major public blockchain networks.

Interstice Digital has introduced a cross-chain swap engine in partnership with FalconX, linking the Canton Network to Ethereum, Solana and Robinhood Chain.

According to Tuesday’s announcement, the non-custodial engine enables users to swap assets across all four networks without Interstice taking custody of funds or carrying out transactions on their behalf.

FalconX, a digital asset prime brokerage serving institutional clients, supplies liquidity for the engine. The platform is designed to link Canton’s institutional markets with assets and trading activity on public blockchains, providing users with a pathway between tokenized assets on Canton and liquidity available on networks such as Ethereum and Solana.

Canton is a public blockchain developed for institutional finance, featuring privacy and permissioning controls that support regulated transactions and tokenized assets. Its ecosystem brings together major financial institutions, including JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and BNP Paribas.

Interstice operates as a fully owned subsidiary of Everyrealm, with backing from investors such as a16z Crypto, Coinbase Ventures, Galaxy and Brevan Howard. The company has not revealed the assets supported at launch or disclosed transaction volume figures for the swap engine.

Canton Expands Institutional Tokenization Activity#

The integration arrives as a growing number of traditional financial institutions turn to Canton for tokenized assets and blockchain-based settlement.

In July, electronic trading platform Tradeweb carried out an onchain US Treasury transaction on the Canton Network, with Franklin Templeton transferring a tokenized Treasury security to Virtu Financial in exchange for tokenized cash.

Tradeweb handled execution and price discovery, while Canton enabled real-time settlement between the two assets. Tradeweb said the transaction marked the first real-time purchase and sale of a tokenized US Treasury settled against USDCx, a USDC-backed stablecoin issued on Canton, with Societe Generale, Digital Asset and Blockdaemon also participating.

Societe Generale has also deployed euro- and dollar-denominated stablecoins on Canton for tokenized collateral, repo financing and institutional settlement, while Visa has tested private stablecoin settlement through the network.

Other projects include a Japanese government bond collateral pilot involving Mizuho and Nomura, along with S&P Dow Jones Indices’ move to place its iBoxx US Treasuries Index on the Canton Network.
