Unveiling Project ATLAS: A New Frontier in Decentralized AI and Blockchain

A partnership has been established between Gewan Holding, a United Arab Emirates conglomerate, and Iopn, a pioneer in decentralized infrastructure. This collaboration is designed to expedite the development of sovereign AI, blockchain, and digital identity solutions.

The alliance’s core is the deployment of a sovereign AI stack, which will be powered by Nvidia GPUs and anchored by Iopn’s proprietary OPN Chain.

According to a news release, this decentralized infrastructure integrates high-performance AI computing with a sovereign digital identity layer, which enables compliant and scalable operations in governance, finance, healthcare, and real estate.

The OPN Chain also supports the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA), biometric authentication, and modern payment systems, unlocking liquidity and regulated access to global capital markets.

Alaa Al Ali, Group CEO of NG9 Holding, which owns Gewan Holding, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership.

Our collaboration with IOPn and the launch of Project ATLAS is not just about building technology—it’s about securing sovereignty and enabling the UAE to shape the digital future.

Project ATLAS (Advance Tokenized Liquid-cooled AI Stack), which was developed by Iopn in partnership with Betabytes, an official Nvidia Cloud Partner, will function as a sovereign-grade AI data center.

The project is one of several initiatives within the wider Iopn ecosystem, which also includes a digital financial infrastructure, RWA tokenization, and the AI Academy & AI Factory.

Amer Al Osh, the Chief Development Officer at Gewan Holding, stated that the collaboration provides an infrastructure model that “reinforces digital sovereignty and unlocks new economic opportunities.” According to Osh, the partnership also ensures that the UAE continues to set the benchmark for innovation in the age of AI and Web3.

Iopn CEO Mojtaba Asadian described the OPN Chain as the cornerstone of a unified ecosystem for sovereign identity, financial infrastructure, and AI-driven innovation. He stated that with NG9 Holding’s support and initiatives such as Project ATLAS, a sovereign-grade digital infrastructure is being built to empower nations to harness AI and Web3 on their own terms.

Meanwhile, the news release also revealed that the Gewan AI Hub had been launched by Gewan Holding to promote AI adoption across various industries. This initiative complements the broader digital transformation strategy of the UAE and reinforces the central role of Iopn’s ecosystem.

Gewan Holding and Iopn are working together to position the UAE as a key entry point for sovereign AI and blockchain solutions. According to the release, more initiatives under Project ATLAS are anticipated to be announced in the coming months.
