With a little over two months remaining before the US general election, Stand With Crypto announced its preferred political candidates as part of its campaign to “elect the most pro-crypto Congress in history.”

Stand With Crypto, an advocacy group launched by Coinbase in 2023, endorsed 32 House of Representatives candidates ahead of the 2026 US midterm elections, with selections based on their views toward digital asset policies.

In a Monday notice, Stand With Crypto said its slate of 32 candidates for the 2026 midterm elections formed part of an effort to shape federal digital asset policy. The organization said it had endorsed politicians recognized as “proven digital asset policy champions,” while also focusing on competitive races “where Stand With Crypto advocate numbers are most likely to influence outcomes.”

Stand With Crypto executive director Mason Lynaugh said crypto voters had become a durable and motivated voting bloc with the potential to sway key congressional races during the midterms, adding:

“The midterms come at a key inflection point for crypto policy in Washington, D.C. As candidates from both parties are trying to reach voters outside of more traditional constituencies, they overlook Crypto Voters at their own peril.”

The move comes as some experts view crypto policy as a potential swing issue for voters in several closely contested elections. In March, Stand With Crypto announced six candidates in its first endorsement group — three Republicans and three Democrats — all of whom advanced through their primaries and will compete in the November election.

During the 2024 election cycle, crypto-backed organizations and political action committees (PACs) spent more than $170 million supporting candidates viewed as favorable to the industry, with many of those candidates going on to win their races. Stand With Crypto said more than 270 “pro-crypto” candidates entered Congress in 2025, potentially shaping votes on legislation such as the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for US Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act.

CLARITY vote still waiting for Senate’s return#

The composition of the next US Congress in both the House and Senate could play a role in determining whether a comprehensive crypto market structure bill becomes law. Although the House passed the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act with bipartisan backing in July 2025, Senate consideration of the legislation has involved debates over ethics, tokenization and stablecoin rewards.

CLARITY is set for a cloture motion when the Senate returns from recess on Sept. 15, but lawmakers will have only 14 days in session before the chamber breaks ahead of the November election. Following the midterms, the Senate will have another 22 days before 2027 to send the bill back to the House, after which it could reach the president’s desk for approval.

Last week, President Donald Trump appeared alongside several crypto CEOs and executives, urging the Senate to approve a “fair version” of CLARITY. However, the Trump family’s financial connections to the industry could complicate a potential vote, with a majority of Americans describing the crypto investments as not “appropriate” in a recent poll.
