Charles Hoskinson
Charles Hoskinson is a highly influential figure in the cryptocurrency world, widely recognized as a co-founder of Ethereum and, most notably, the founder of Cardano (ADA). A mathematician and technology entrepreneur, Hoskinson initially gained prominence through his work on the Bitcoin Education Project before joining the original Ethereum founding team in late 2013.
After a disagreement over Ethereum's future (he advocated for a commercial entity, while Vitalik Buterin preferred a non-profit), Hoskinson departed in 2014. He then co-founded Input Output Global (IOHK) in 2015, an engineering and research company dedicated to building cryptocurrencies and blockchains. IOHK's flagship project is Cardano, launched in 2017.
Cardano distinguishes itself through its research-driven, peer-reviewed approach to blockchain development, aiming to provide a more secure, scalable, and sustainable platform. Hoskinson is a vocal advocate for decentralized governance and the broader potential of blockchain to create more equitable and transparent systems. He frequently engages with the community through social media and interviews, discussing everything from Cardano's technical advancements, like the upcoming Midnight protocol and the Voltaire governance era, to broader philosophical debates about the future of Web3. His bold predictions, such as Cardano potentially outperforming Bitcoin, keep him at the forefront of crypto discussions, impacting the outlook for investors and enthusiasts from global financial hubs to cities like Surat.
